Day Trips
We provide a variety of day trip routes, ranging from 2 hours to an entire day. Heading North, within 5 minutes, we'll reach our first lock. Continue for another 40 minutes, and we'll arrive at the market town of Stone, known for its series of locks.
Heading South, you'll find yourself surrounded by open countryside, offering hours of cruising with few locks to navigate.
Cost: For up to 6 guests, 5 to 6 hours trip £400
Short Breaks
Route 1
Remember: Short stay holidays offer self-catering accommodations with a skilled skipper provided for boat navigation and lock operation. Guests are encouraged to experience steering the boat themselves and can also assist with operating the locks if desired. Your skipper will leave you late afternoon, returning the next day and the continuation of your cruise.
Alrewas and the National Memorial Arboretum
45 miles; 26 locks; Approx 24 hours of cruising
Summary: A delightful 4 day trip to the town of Alrewas. Open countryside from the moment we depart Aston Marina.
Overnights are Aston Marina, Wolesley Bridge, Alrewas town centre and Great Haywood.
Option to include additional static mooring at any location. We would recommend Alrewas and include a trip to the Arboretum.
Cost: £1400 for up to 4 guests for 4 nights.
Additional static mooring £250 per night.
Route 2
The Potteries and Harecastle Tunnel
32 miles; 30 locks; Approx 22 hours of cruising
Summary: After 40 minutes of cruising, we enter the market town of Stone with its 9 locks in quick succession. Then open countryside until we reach Trentham for our first nights stop.
Overnights are Aston Marina, Trentham, Westport Lake and Barlaston.
Option to include additional static mooring at any location. We would recommend Trentham to enjoy the local attraction of the Trentham Estate.
Cost: £1400 for up to 4 guests for 4 nights.
Additional static mooring £250 per night.
Route 3
Caldon Canal and Gateway to the Peak District
56 miles; 66 locks; Approx 36 hours of cruising
Summary: An adventurous 6 day cruise taking in both the Trent and Mersey and Caldon canals. Entering the outskirts of the Peak District at the end of day 3.
Overnights are Aston Marina, Trentham, Stockton Brook, Froghall, Etruria and Barlaston.
Cost: £2100 for up to 4 guests for 6 nights.
Additional static mooring £250 per night.
